The surround-sound effect, short musical phrases, repetitive text by Hildegard of Bingen and Sanskrit mantras are spinning listeners into the mystical journey, whereby the tradition meets contemporary symbolism. This musical ritual is empowered by images describing a feeling of the earth in a concrete but somewhat un-worldly way.
“Invisible life that sustains ALL,
I awaken to life everything
in every waft of air.
The air is life,
greening and blossoming.
The waters flow with life.
The sun is lit with life.
The moon, when waning, is again rekindled by the sun, waxing with life once more”, Hildegard of Bingen wrote.
This evening will also include the world premier of “Ad fontes” for voice and electronics in a surround sound version. A special guest from Norway, Rolf-Erik Nystrøm, will perform live and premier “Everything Passes” for saxophone solo by Dalia With, and a piece of his and Juliana Venter’s music
