Exploring their shared interest in acoustic ecology, field recordings, and deep listening, Dan Joseph and Andrea Williams create slowly developing, collaborative electroacoustic soundscapes. Through live processing of acoustic sounds, including hammer dulcimer, field recordings, bells, harmonicas and other hand-held sound makers, their works create a dreamlike, meditative sonic environment, inviting the listener into a heightened state of sonic awareness.
The duo has performed at Experimental Intermedia (NYC), The Center for New Music (San Francisco), Headlands Center for the Arts (CA) and The Old Stone House (NYC). In 2015 they co-produced a three-day festival of Acoustic Ecology as part of the Musical Ecologies series in Park Slope, Brooklyn. In 2014 they were Artists-In-Residence together at Harvestworks where they produced their first full-length recording titled Guided By Sound which they self-released as a digital album on Bandcamp.
