Filmette is a new festival celebrating films that run between 30 and 60 minutes in length. The festival was created to showcase movies that have historically struggled to find an audience and distribution simply because of their unconventional running time. Too long for traditional shorts programs and too short for the theatrical release given to feature films, these mid-length movies are no less deserving of attention simply because they run between a half-hour and an hour.
The festival will focus on works across four genres: Narrative, Documentary, Animation and Experimental.
