[Dec 2]  R. Lisek: HIGHER DIMENSIONAL ORACLE

HDO is a project that tests  Higher Dimensional Spaces and Hyperbolic Spaces. It is an immersive installation with projections on 4 walls and a VR system plus sound synthesis in real time. Entangled spaces are explored, for instance 3d slices and projections of 5d manifold. In the project a version of HBI technology is used in order to manipulate objects through brain waves. The projects makes use of neural network, which is used for recognizing and selecting patterns in complex brain states.
We live in a complex reality: economic, social etc. It is difficult to imagine that the problems within this reality could be reduced to problems/formulas with 3 variables and to 3D space. Therefore the use of higher dimensions is a natural solution. One can think about additional dimensions in terms of additional variables. The research of such abstract ‘invisible’ spaces is of crucial importance.
The projects uses constructions from contemporary mathematics and quantum physics. In the future, this kind of research will deliver models and vehicles for better and easy transportation in great scales, such as interplanetary distances and will allow for better understanding of phenomena occurring on the quantum and nano scale.
These ideas have appeared in literature: The Tunnel under the World, Time Out of Joint, Total Recall, The Thirteenth Flooor, Dark City, eXistenZ, Neuroromancer…

After the installation, a concert will be held.

Robert B. LISEK is an artist, mathematician and composer who focuses on systems and processes (computational, biological, social). He is involved in the number of projects focused on radical art strategies, hacktivism and tactical media. Drawing upon conceptual art, software art and meta-media, his work intentionally defies categorization. Lisek is a pioneer of art based on AI and bioinformatics. Lisek is also a composer of contemporary music, author of many projects and scores on the intersection of spectral, stochastic, concret music, musica futurista and noise: http://lisek.bandcamp.com/
Lisek is a founder of Institute for Research in Science and Art, Fundamental Research Lab and ACCESS Art Symposium. Author of many exhibitions and concerts, among others: SUPRAINFINITE – Spektrum Berlin; QUANTUM ENIGMA – STEIM Amsterdam; TERROR ENGINES – WORM Center Rotterdam, Secure Insecurity – ISEA Istanbul; DEMONS – Venice Biennale (accompanying events); Manifesto vs. Manifesto – Ujazdowski Castel of Contemporary Art, Warsaw; NGRU – FILE, Sao Paulo; NEST – ARCO Art Fair, Madrid; Float – DMAC Harvestworks and Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, NYC; WWAI – Siggraph, Los Angeles; Falsecodes – Red Gate Gallery, Beijing; Gengine – National Gallery, Warsaw; Flextex – Byzantine Museum, Athens, FXT- ACA Media Festival, Tokyo and ISEA, Nagoya.
