Merging her practices as an electronic musician working with spatial audio and as a sound healing practitioner, C. Lavender will present a meditative sunset performance outside the Harvestworks building on Governors Island to provide listeners with a moment of tranquility during sunset. This electro-acoustic performance will feature brainwave modulating digital audio, presented in surround sound, with live gong playing. The electronic and acoustic sounds will merge to create a pallet of hypnotic and transcendent sounds while integrating with the natural sounds present outside on Governors Island. The performance will begin with a listening meditation to assist audience members in connecting with the auditory worlds of Governors Island.
Note: Chair seating will be available, but you may wish to bring a yoga mat to lie down on for the performance.
